LiPurposeFe is an independent studio that turns research on purpose into apps for ordinary moments, like where you get coffee or grab a taco.

People nominate coffee spots that matter to them, from a reliable cup to a café that quietly shapes how they think about their day. A shared view shows how each place sits between simple pleasure and something more.
In development
A community map of taco spots built one nomination at a time, from something quick and satisfying to a place people keep coming back to for reasons beyond the food.
In developmentPurpose is not the same as pleasure.
Psychologists separate hedonic wellbeing, which is about comfort and enjoyment, from eudaimonic wellbeing, which is about meaning and direction. Our apps are built for the second kind, even when the subject is coffee or tacos.
Purpose grows from small, repeated choices.
Researchers who study how purpose develops, including William Damon, describe it less as a single revelation and more as a direction that forms gradually through everyday decisions.
Purpose is often cultivated together, not alone.
A sense of direction tends to sharpen in community, through shared spaces and other people's signals, rather than through private reflection by itself.
LiPurposeFe was started by a researcher who spent years studying how people build a sense of purpose, and wanted to see whether that research could live inside small, everyday apps.
Every app draws on the same idea: everyday choices sit somewhere between pleasure and purpose.
We design for noticing, not for rating. The point is reflection, not a scoreboard.
Small and carefully made, and few. We would rather ship two apps well than ten adequately.
What separates a quick, pleasant cup from a place that quietly organizes how you think about your life, and why the difference is worth naming.
